The Yamaha 400 HP XTO V8 is a 5.6-liter naturally aspirated four-stroke outboard engine designed for heavy offshore applications. It utilizes a direct fuel injection system to deliver fuel at high pressure into the combustion chambers, optimizing thermal efficiency. The engine features a 1.79:1 gear ratio and a high-output alternator providing 90 amps of total power. With a dry weight of approximately 952 lbs, this unit includes integrated electric steering and a power trim and tilt system. It is intended for multi-engine configurations on large center consoles and offshore cruisers. Compatibility is limited to vessels rated for 400 horsepower and equipped with digital electronic control systems.
