LTL Heavy Freight Shipping
Outboard motors are massive, crate-shipped items. Here's exactly what to expect from order to delivery.
Handling time
Orders are processed and dispatched from our Somerset, KY warehouse within 2–5 business days of cleared payment. Wire transfers typically clear same-day; ACH may take 1–3 business days to clear before handling begins.
Transit time
All outboard motors ship securely crated via LTL heavy freight. Free standard delivery includes commercial loading dock drop-off or residential liftgate service. Transit times range from 7–14 business days after dispatch. The freight carrier will contact you directly to schedule a delivery appointment.
Shipping destinations & costs
We ship to the 48 contiguous U.S. states. Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and international destinations are quoted case-by-case. Standard LTL freight is included on orders over $2,500 USD; smaller orders receive a live-rate freight quote at checkout before payment is captured.
What's included
Engines are bolted to a reinforced wooden pallet inside a vented crate, with cowling padding and prop-shaft protection. A bill of lading and inspection checklist are included on the outside of the crate.
At delivery
Inspect the crate for visible damage before signing. Note any cosmetic crate damage on the BOL. If the cowling or lower unit shows impact damage, refuse the shipment and contact our rigging support team immediately.
Commercial vs residential
Commercial addresses with a loading dock receive standard dock-high delivery. Residential and marina addresses receive liftgate service to ground level. Inside delivery, debris removal, and crate disposal are available for an additional fee quoted at checkout.
